About
I am currently the VP of Research at the dating app Hinge where we leverage mixed-method approaches to translate the science of modern dating to useful and usable insights for users.
At Hinge, I lead the research org spanning growth (expansion, monetization, lifecycle, activation), core experience (identity, interaction, discover), trust & safety, and strategic central insights (Labs). I manage a team of strategic and embedded product UX researchers, ReOps, and research managers to help people across the globe find fulfilling connections.
I draw from affective, health, and relationship science and use an array of quantitative and qualitative methods capturing physiological, behavioral, and perceptual measures with diverse study designs (e.g., experimental, experience sample method, longitudinal) including dyadic approaches.
I earned a PhD in Human Development and Social Policy and my MS in Statistics from Northwestern University. My academic expertise focuses on how we react, regulate, and understand emotions and the role our daily emotions play in our romantic relationships.
I have training from the Society Biology and Health and Multidisciplinary Program for Education Sciences, funded by IES. I have received my Teaching Certificate at the Searle Center for Teaching Excellence and Certificate in Management for Scientists from the Kellogg School of Management. I have served as co-author in peer-reviewed journals including Psychological Science, Emotion, PloS ONE, and Journal of Neuroscience.
